...and yet I managed to climb that goddamn rope to the top today! weehaw! talk about a personal victory. :) and I was not bleeding ANYwhere when I returned to solid ground. Now I just need to find out how high up that fucker is..... I would not be surprised if it was 30 feet up. :) pleasing.
Oh dear… one of those ‘I hate corporate soul-sucking interfacing initiativing synchronizing bullshit america’ days. I fear that there have been more and more of them of late, as my day job (which had been incredibly cushy and flexible and part-time and flex-time and vastly unsupervised until the past few months) is pushing me to go to a ridiculous amount of meetings and trainings and coachings and crap that I just could not care less about… Oh – and I’m supposed to turn into a financial analyst overnight. Huh. sorry. NO INTEREST.
it’s a stupid tax deadline, so i don’t have a lot of time, but i wanted to ruminate on the oh-so-healing aspects of camping at the Point Reyes National Seashore. i think this just may be one of my favorite places on earth. Wonderful Trees. Stars. Air. Deer. Foxes. Birds of prey. Ocean. Waterfalls. Ridiculous Quail. Horsies. Swamps. Hunting Bats. Pure Happiness. Simplicity. So fucking nice.
very small.
so yesterday morning i found my way to the Circus Center of San Francisco. i walked in feeling completely out of place and like i hadn’t seen a gym mat in 15 years (which is probably true) and more than a little intimidated. a little over an hour later, i was suspended 15-18 feet in the air (in the smack dab center of the gym) from a rope that i had just CLIMBED with me own little hands and feets! ohmigoodness. can i just say that again?!?! i climbed up a rope. okay?!?!?! see - i was the girl in gym class who could barely manage the BAR HANG, let alone a goddamn pull-up. and yesterday, i somehow (almost gracefully, mind you!), hauled my 5’8’’ frame up a freaking rope. yeah. it was a personal victory. (actually the personal victory part was probably the fact that i managed not to burn off any skin on the way back down…) www.circuscenter.org
I climbed a 5.10b today! I climbed a 5.10b today! yay! yay!
…just watched a fireman ax his way through someone’s roof whilst a helicopter hovered overhead and water was merely a foot from submerging the entire structure.
